Costs, VAT and the month’s result

What came in, what went out, and what is left — with the assumed figures marked as assumed. A number you have not entered is not a number you should trust.

Everything below runs on an example lodge — the lodge, the guests and the numbers are all made up.

Assumed is labeled assumed

A cost line nobody filled in shows as an estimate, not as fact. The margin tells you how much of it is estimated.

VAT counted in the month of departure

The month the guest leaves. If your accountant books it differently, the CSV has each line with its date.

Channel commission is a cost

It appears as money leaving, because that is what it is.

What it doesn’t do

It is not accounting software and does not replace your accountant. It gives you the number they ask for — and the income and expense CSVs to send them.

What Staywarden is

Staywarden is all-in-one property management software (SaaS) for hotels and lodges: calendar and channel sync, housekeeping, team, guest messaging, invoicing, reporting and an AI assistant. Hotels pay a monthly subscription; we never handle guests’ money.
